I have never been a very healthy person. That is not to say that I was unhealthy, I just wasn't very health conscious until August 2014, when I weighed nearly 200 lbs (198.7 to be exact) and was about to give birth to our first son. I decided that was unacceptable, and committed to getting in shape and being healthy as soon as the doctor approved working out. I lost 20 pounds within the first couple weeks of giving birth, and then I was stuck.
I spent the remaining month of my "6 weeks of postpartum recovery" researching, trying to find a workout program that didn't cost a fortune, that I thought I could commit myself to. Enter Bikini Body Mommy. For 20 minutes a day, 6 days a week, I could workout in my living room, for free, while the baby napped in the swing/playpen/bouncer. It was GREAT! I lost another 15 pounds, but then I got lazy. Slacked off and went back up to 175 pounds. I was so frustrated with myself, I planned to rededicate myself to working out and then I found out we were pregnant again. I spent my entire pregnancy very aware of what I was eating, drinking, and even working out (once I got through the first trimester of misery). Our second son was born in September 2016 and I started working out again at 4 weeks postpartum. I can't wait to see my progress and share it with all of you. Let's do this!! |
