Early last week, I was approached by Smile Brilliant to see if I would be willing to accept one of their new electric toothbrushes in exchange for my honest and thorough review. Y'all know I'm always done to try out new things, so of course I said yes!

I have been using an electric toothbrush for the last few years, at my dentist's recommendation. It has been a lovely little toothbrush, but I'm always happy to try new things. The first thing I noticed about the cariPRO was how many different brush modes it has. 5! That seemed excessive, but in the effort of thoroughness, I decided to test them all and they are absolutely wonderful! I have sensitive gums that bleed every-freaking-time I brush or floss. It's beyond infuriating. I decided to test out the "Gum Care" setting first and I was pleasantly surprised to find that it massaged my gums very effectively, without causing any bleeding. That may not sound like much to you, but to someone whose gums bleed more often than not, it was quite the achievement.
After such a surprisingly bloodless and successful use of the Gum Care setting, I decided to test them out, one day at a time. My second favorite setting (that might sound weird, but humor me), is the aptly named “Clean” setting. Along with having insanely sensitive gums, my front teeth aren’t smooth. By that I mean, the “face” of my top 4 teeth are rather textured and it’s a bit (very) difficult for me to achieve that dentist-smooth feeling of clean on the front of those teeth. Even with the Sonicare I purchased at my dentist, I have to push harder than I think is healthy to thoroughly clean that area. The head of the cariPRO is different than other toothbrushes I’ve used. It is multi-leveled so it does an excellent job of cleaning all the ridges and valleys of my teeth. It even gets the weird little devit on the top of my front left tooth. My hygienist always thinks that little dip is something stuck in my gums. Every damn time. My teeth honestly feel as smooth and clean after using this brush as they do after I have them professionally cleaned. (No offense, Hannah, this thing is just awesome.)
One of my absolute favorite features is actually the back of the toothbrush head. It’s textured in a way that, while I’m brushing my teeth, it’s scrubbing the insides of my cheeks and my tongue to clean off any dead cells. It’s a weird and delightful feeling. I don’t know why, exactly, but I love it.
The other three settings are fun, including the “Massage” setting which is a sort of pulsating experience. It threw me at first, but it was still an effective clean.
The cariPRO comes with 1 toothbrush, the charging base, 2 brush heads, and an instruction manual. I appreciate that it came with a second head because my husband stole the toothbrush on the second night and I was creeped out by the idea of using the same toothbrush head as him. So now we’re sharing the toothbrush and just using separate heads. Both of our original electric toothbrushes sit, rejected, on the bathroom counter.
