We were gifted this sound machine to test and provide our honest review. I think y'all know by now that I'm gonna tell you exactly how I feel about something. If I don't like it, you know it. If I like it, you know it. So here goes!
If you keep up with us on Instagram, you know that sleep has been a battle for months. Connor just turned 5 and he still struggles to lay down, calm down, and let sleep take him. We went through weeks of him having massive meltdowns, and hours of fit throwing and time outs before he'd finally run out of steam and pass the f*ck out. It was draining; Mike and I quickly began to dread bedtime because we knew it was going to be a fight, that we'd all end up in cranky moods, and there didn't seem to be anything we could do about it.
I have never been more happy to be wrong in my life.
When Dreamegg approached me and offered to gift us their sound machine, I honestly thought "meh, sure. It can't possibly make things any worse." Y'all. Y'all. I am so grateful for them. I told Connor that he was getting his own "lights and sounds machine" (Kylar already has one) and he was so excited. He watched for the delivery man all day and immediately wanted to open it up and try it out the second it arrived.
Why we love it:
What I'd change:
Honestly, the only thing I'd change is an option to keep the light on even after the sound shuts off. As it is, when the time runs out, the entire machine turns off. It hasn't really been an issue, except the first night we were all sleeping in mine and Mike's room when we were without AC last week. But that is a rant for another time and not remotely the fault of this awesome machine.
But did it help with Connor's bedtime routine?
That is the million dollar question, isn't it? I am beyond happy to report that yes it has absolutely helped him go to sleep easier. We've been using it for nearly two weeks, and while there have still been a couple of hard nights, there have only been a couple of hard nights. That is a massive improvement. I no longer dread bedtime and I credit this beautiful little sound machine with our considerably less stressful evenings.
