I love cookies. I love baking. I hate waiting for the butter to soften but heating it (microwave or oven) always results in flat, gross, hard and crispy cookies. Pass. So, when Influenster sent me a coupon for a free box of Country Crock's new buttery sticks, I thought "well, I love their tubs, why not give the sticks a chance?"

I've never been a very patient person, you can ask anyone. I don't like waiting and if there's any sort of alternative, I jump at it. Unfortunately for me, I also love baking and baking is an art form, it's a science and you can't rush science or art and get the desired results. Sure, you can do things the fast way, but it will almost certainly turn out wrong. Or at least not as good as it could have if you'd just taken your time in the first place.
The thing that makes these buttery sticks special is that they have sunflower oil mixed right in so they are already soft enough to use, directly from fridge to mixing bowl. That's my kinda baking! It's smooth and easy and I didn't feel like I'd just finished a 45 minute round of pure upper body strength training by the time my batter was ready. It was refreshing, to be completely honest. You could seamlessly swap Country Crock's buttery sticks out for your traditional butter and your baked goods would still taste amazing and your arms won't feel sore and weak! (That last part could just be me... still love this stuff though!)
Now, for my favorite chocolate chip cookie recipe. Enjoy!
Chocolate Chip Cookies
I made a total of about 40 cookies using this exact recipe. You can easily adjust to make more or less by simply making the cookies bigger or smaller (duh?) or attempting math and actually using less ingredients, but I don't have the patience for that nonsense either, so good luck to ya!
