Mother's day is coming up quick! Are you ready?! What are you getting the mom(s) in your life? Are they hard to shop for? Maybe the mom(s) in your life are more minimalist, like me, and don't want a lot of stuff around the house/car/office/wherever. If that's the case, I wanna meet her because she sounds like my kinda people.
That year, I decided we would do things differently. Mother's Day would be a day for mom, to get pampered and do what she wants without feeling guilty about being the center of attention for once. For me, that means annual facial/spa experience. Every year, on the Saturday before Mother's Day (because hubs works on Sundays) I take myself to Aveda for a facial. Sometimes I also get a haircut. I might do that this year too.

Experiences, not stuff.
I love consumables. Things you use until they're gone and then they're gone. No unnecessary stuff hanging around the house. You won't end up with a dozen coffee mugs that say something akin to "best mom ever". You won't need a second (or third or fourth) jewelry box for all the fancy jewels you rarely wear.
